Men experience domestic violence and abuse too.

Suicide rates for men are 4 x higher than for women.

40% of men don’t speak to anyone about mental health issues.

1 in 6 men experience DV in the UK and 1 in 5 men reported experiencing anxiety (Apr 22 to Mar 23).

1 in 7 men in the US experience severe violence by an intimate partner, and 1 in 4 men experience rape and stalking by an intimate partner.

29% of men are too embarassed to speak about their issues.

I work from a trauma informed perspective so you don’t need to share anything you don’t want to in either of my programs. The tools I provide are to help you heal and for you to know how worthy you are.

My practice is about not re-traumatising anyone who’s experienced domestic violence and abuse, or any other form of trauma.

The men I worked with on probation had experienced domestic violence and abuse, and trauma since childhood. Most had not experienced care from a parent or any other adult. I asked them questions like ‘what happened to you?’ and listened as they spoke their truths. For most, this was the first time that someone had validated their thoughts and feelings. I’m not here to judge, I’m here to create a safe space to help you explore what you need and want to.

They not only shared their fears and pain, they began taking action and asked what could be done to help them heal. From domestic violence offenders to high risk violent offenders, I provided a listening ear and the possibility to be heard and get their lives back on track.

The men in the clips below are sharing the severity of men’s attitudes towards mental health. Facts like those you will find below, and my own work with men who have experienced trauma and abuse, led me to offer my programs Define Yourself! and BeyondTrauma to men too. Please visit the program page to find out more about each program.
